Eugene Grooms Sr. Darrell

Darrell Eugene Grooms, Sr., 75, of Gallatin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 after battling lung cancer. He was born in Long Beach, California on April 1, 1946 to parents Ernest Glen Milligan and Laura Lee Milligan. Darrell was adopted at the age of twelve by Leo Bill Grooms. He was married to Betty Ann Payne for forty-seven years until she went to meet the Lord in 2011. Darrell served in the Navy on active duty on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam conflict. He received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in 1979 at United Pentecostal Church in Liberty, Missouri. Darrell attended Refuge Church in Liberty, Missouri under Pastor Gary Dornbach, until his passing on November 9^th.

He is survived by his sons: Darrell Jr. and wife Marsha of Greenwood, MO, Darrin and wife Johnna of Hamilton, MO, and David and wife Sharon of Liberty, MO; eight grandchildren: Darrin, Jr., Darric Cyle, Larissa Danae, Logan Everett, Trevor Garrett, Abigail Mae, Darrien Gabrielle, and Daxtin Dewitt; two great grandchildren, Darrin Edward, III, and Daylin Faith.

A memorial service will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Refuge Church, 1315 Nashua Rd., Liberty, MO.
