Donald Lee Davis

July 10, 1939 — September 25, 2021

Donald Lee Davis went to be with Jesus on September 25, 2021 at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Born on July 10, 1939 in Warrensburg, Missouri, he was a retired airplane inspector of American Airlines, having previously worked for TWA until it closed. Prior to his airplane inspector career, Don enlisted in the Navy on November 16, 1956. Thereafter, on January 4, 1962, he enlisted in the Air Force. He always supported and appreciated the men and women of the United States Military.

Family and friends were very important to Don and he enjoyed meeting new people. Don loved his family and doted on his grandchildren. Don was always of good counsel giving sound godly advice to anyone who asked for his ear.

Don loved to fish and enjoyed traveling in the RV. He was a huge Chiefs fan who rarely missed a live game (DVR was rarely an option). In fact, one Sunday morning the Pastor was long-winded and Don walked out prior to the conclusion of the sermon in order to catch the game live (he didn't want to miss another minute).

Don loved to eat and never missed a meal. He wife was an amazing cook who made his favorite meals (all meals were his favorite). He was exceptional at loading his plate at the buffet!

Don enjoyed the Lake of the Ozarks and moved permanently to the lake in 2010. One of his favorite past-time activities was feeding the wildlife and watching the birds. Bluegrass music was a must!!

Don was a Deacon at Colony Baptist Church in Edwards, Missouri. He enjoyed sharing his faith in Jesus Christ and visiting people in the community while they were in the hospital or sick at home.

He married Janette Meuschke and she preceded him in death in 2003. He married Rhonda Babcock on August 11, 2007 and she survives him. Also surviving are daughter Randi Bunton and her husband Toby Bunton, grandchildren Drake Winfree, Coltyn Bunton, and Ava Bunton, and cousin Jimmy Lockard.
