Ditamore, Carol Ann

Ditamore, Carol Ann

February 4, 1943 — May 2, 2020

Carol Ann (Tausch) Ditamore entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2020. She was the only daughter of four children born to Ernest and Frieda (Schmidt) Tausch. Carol was born in Gashland, MO but graduated from Southeast High School in K.C., MO. She married Dave Roberts and that marriage resulted in two sons, David Roberts who passed away a few days after birth, and Chris W. Roberts born in 1970.

After that marriage ended she met and later married Marlyn Ditamore who brought two sons into her second marriage in 1981, which lasted 39 years to present time. These three sons provided eight grandchildren who were each the shining lights that totally lit up her life. Though she was a bookkeeper almost all her life, she thought of herself as a proud professional grandparent.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, and her older brother John C. Tausch. She is survived by her husband Marlyn, three sons: Chris Roberts, Mike Ditamore, and Stephen Ditamore, as well as eight grandchildren: Tristyn, Skylar, and Brendan Roberts, Addison and Jackson Ditamore, Ryan and Carter Moore, and Chloee Riley. She also leaves behind two brothers, Harold and Ernest Tausch, two sisters-in-law, Jeanna and Catherine Ann Tausch, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a cremation and a private family burial service as soon as practical. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date when current circumstances improve.

Service Information

At this time, immediate services for Mrs. Ditamore are private. A public Celebration of Life will be planned in the future as present gathering circumstances improve.

Gymnastics meets and softball games will not be the same without her. She only missed a few of my meets or games because of personal reasons but now looking in the crowd and not seeing her every time will brake my heart. She also taught me how to do many things when we were together but most importantly she taught me how to sew and now when I sew I do it in her memory. My life isn't complete without her. I miss her so much and I always loved her so much!

I haven’t seen Carol since graduation at Southeast High School, 1961. I especially remember her in the A Capella Choir. She was always so vivacious and upbeat! Rest In Peace dear one.

Evie Goss Bresette

I share the sadness of the family at this loss of my classmate from Southeast High School. My condolences.

Karen Thomas Black

I'll always remember the fun times we had on canoe trips. The rides to/from in the back of Carol and Marlyns truck camper. Thoughts and prayers to Marlyn and the family.

My mother and Stephen, her other son got a divorce a few years ago. Regrettably I haven’t kept up as much as I would have liked and it really taught me to not take time for granted because we don’t have much left. When I was younger I never felt any different than her blood grandchildren and that’s what I loved about grandma. It never mattered to her and she gave the biggest hugs. I didn’t even think I’d be on the obituary but tears come to my eyes as I read my name listed. Sending much love to grandpa, I’ll think about grandma often and fondly.

Chloee Riley

Carol was wonderful mother and grandmother. She truly will be missed

David Roberts

I completed my first sewing project a few days ago. I learned how to sew from grandma! I can’t wait to continue our many wonderful traditions and pass them along for generations.

Skylar Roberts

My heart is broken to hear of Carol’s passing. We had many laughs and treasures to remember. May God bless her family.
