M. Dyer Sr. Donald

August 30, 1941 — October 6, 2022

On August 30th, 1941 Donald Marsh Dyer Sr. was born to Robert Irl Dyer and Ruth (Collins) Dyer in Stella, Missouri as the youngest of their six children. Don was raised in Rocky Comfort, Missouri but lived his entire adult life in the metro area of Kansas City, Missouri.

Don was a humble man of steady tranquility. His kindness, generosity, and dry sense of humor enriched the lives of everyone he encountered. Some called him “Donnie,” others called him “Don.” A fortunate few were able to call him “Dad” or “Papa Don” or “Pep Pep.” All who knew him considered themselves blessed. Aside from his faith in Christ, there was nothing in life he treasured more than spending time with his family.

On Thursday evening, October 6th, at Centerpoint Medical Center Don was surrounded by his cherished wife, daughter, three sons, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren when he closed his eyes in quiet peace and passed into eternal bliss. He was 81 years old.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Irl and Ruth Dyer, his brothers Bob and Jerry Dyer, and his sister Ila “Ruthie” Spears. He is survived by his sister Dorothy (Dyer) Prewitt, his brother James Dyer, his beloved wife Debbie (Cockrell) Dyer, his daughter Marsha (Dyer) Perry, his sons Donald M. Dyer Jr, Daniel H. Dyer, and David M. Dyer, his son-in-law Myles Perry, daughters-in-law Shelly (Williams) Dyer and Mallory (Heenan) Dyer, and grandchildren Braeden Perry (wife Chandler), Kendall Perry, Carson Perry, Emerson Perry, Madelyn Dyer, Beau Dyer, Jack Dyer, and forthcoming baby Dyer.
