Edward “Teddy” Theodore Donnelly passed away on December 31st, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO after battling a long illness. He was 70 years old.
Teddy was born July 15th, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Joyce Mae Donnelly and Edward Alvin Donnelly. He was the middle child and only brother to his older sister Jeanne and younger sister Karen.
In 1977, Teddy went to work as an assembly lineman for Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, MO until he became unable to work due to medical reasons. Throughout the years following his time at Ford, he spoke fondly of his experiences there.
An avid sports fan, Teddy’s TV was always tuned to one game or another. He could tell you all the stats and the standings for various teams and players, and he always had a well-thought out opinion about each team and key player’s approach to the game. But he cared most about his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. A die-hard fan win or lose, he was always loyal.
Teddy had a great since of humor and always loved to tease and joke with his family and friends. He was young at heart and bonded so well with so many of the children and younger people that were a part of his life. Teddy had a warm and kind way about him and was always interested in what was happening in the lives of those he cared about; even when he wasn’t feeling well.
Teddy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joyce Mae Donnelly and Edward Alvin Donnelly, and his brother-in-law James Turner.
Teddy is survived by his sisters Jeanne Turner and Karen Freeman, his nephew John Donnelly, his niece Kristen Donnelly and a host of cousins, extended family and friends who loved him very dearly. He will be sorely missed.
