Dorothea “Dottie” Mae Crawford Clark peacefully passed away January 4, 2024 in Waco, Texas. She was born November 15, 1920 in Washington, Iowa. She was the youngest child of Eula Lee Kerr and David William Carson Crawford. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Herman Lee Crawford, twin brother and sister Herbert Carol Crawford and Helen Louise Crawford Overman Price, her husband Dr. George Gan Clark and nephew Mark Crawford.
Dorothea was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Waves, the Women’s Branch of the Navy. She attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the Alumni Association.
Dottie was a member and past regent of the Henry Down Chapter of the D.A.R., Waco, Texas. She was also a member of the Jamestowne Society and a descendent of Jamestowne Ancestors, Joseph Royal, William Hatcher and Dr. John Woodson.
Dottie is survived by nieces and nephews: Joan Lee Thompson of Kingwood, Texas; Mary Ellen Parson of Beaverton, Oregon; John Walter Overman of Leawood, Kansas; David Crawford of Washougal, Washington; Sandra Ahrens of Newburg, Oregon; Carol Crawford of Wilsonville, Oregon; and Carolyn Crawford; as well as many great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be 2PM, Saturday, February 17 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
