Robert Bird Duxbury, age 92, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away October 29, 2020. He was born February 24, 1928, to Bird Price and Annetta May Duxbury in Kansas City, KS. He served during WWII in the Navy from 1945-1946 as a Motor Machinist Mate Third Class, and again in the Reserves from 1947-1955. He worked at Swift Meat Packing House for 25 years and then worked for multiple companies in HVAC for 38 years.
Robert is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Betty Duxbury; children: Susan C. Lock, and her husband, Bob, of Parkville, MO; Stephen Lynn Duxbury, of Kansas City, MO; Randy Scott Duxbury, of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Dorothy Hutson, of Clinton, MO; 4 grandchildren: Tracy and Johnny DeMaddalena, Tom and Natasha Springhower; Brian and Jiae Duxbury, Aaron Duxbury; and 8 great-grandchildren: Thomas, Olivia, Valerie, Johnny Joe, Jenna, Jillian, Madden and Autumn.
Private services will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be directed to Cancer Action, 4010 S. Lynn Court, Independence, MO 64055.
