Dwight Edward "Moe" Spencer, Sr., 76, of the Kansas City Northland, passed away October 12, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House with his wife Linda at his side.
Dwight was born July 7, 1945, in Kansas City, MO, the youngest of six children of Thomas and Shirley (Parker) Spencer. Along with his parents, Moe was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Spencer and Charles Spencer; and sisters, Joan Bishop and Georgia Lee Hatfield.
Dwight was a graduate of North Kansas City High School. He served during the Vietnam War in the US Army, receiving honorable discharge as SP-4. He worked in Environmental Services for North Kansas City Hospital before he retired.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda Lou (Rizer) Spencer; children, Georgia Lee Spencer, Dwight Edward Spencer, Jr. (Carmen), Michael Edward Spencer, Sr. (Susan) and Christopher Joseph Spencer, Sr. (Shelly); grandchildren, Nicole, Courtney, Kiersten, Brittany, Michael Jr., Breanna, C.J. and Myles; great grandchildren, Neves, George, Nessa and Lennon; sister, Shirley Garcia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 am, followed by services at 11:30 am, on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Committal services will follow at 1:30 pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
