William E. Eager

William Elwood Eager, 79, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away April 4, 2022. William was born October 6, 1942 in Middleton, New York, the son of Elwood Biard Eager and Joy Adele Brader. He departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

On February 19, 1965, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Ann Eager until her passing on October 25, 1993. On August 19, 1994, he was united in marriage to Marlene Elizabeth Eager until she passed away on August 15, 2021.

Bill Eager was a 1961 graduate of Ruskin High School. After graduating, he started working at Western Electric on August 27, 1962. He decided to join the Navy, and served from March 1963-February 27, 1969. He returned to Western Electric and retired March 10, 1995 from Western Electric (ie AT&T) as a production technician.

After retiring from AT&T, Bill (aka Wild Bill) enjoyed mowing his 3 acres, collecting brush to burn at family bonfires and his favorite pastime was watching every football game, especially the Chiefs. The only clothes you ever saw "Wild Bill" in was anything Chiefs along with a Navy or Chief's hat. He collected all Elvis and Chief's memorabilia. He was a jokester! You would see him stealing meat off the neighbor's grill, mowing his yard in boots and telling jokes. Bill never met a stranger! He was a member of Rock Brook Church in Belton, Missouri. Bill also enjoyed in his lifetime taking road trips to NY, Pennsylvania, Branson, Nashville, Memphis, Vegas with both of his wife Jacqueline and his wife Marlene.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jacqueline and his second wife, Marlene Eager.

He is survived by oldest son, Todd Eager and Donna Eager of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Tammy (and Scott) Gail of Lee's Summit; and youngest son, Troy (and Anna) Eager of Buckner; one stepson, Stacey M (and Julie) Wyzard of Cleveland, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Shauna D. Willoughby of Independence, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, Erin Warner (Avery Nelson), Quentin Eager, Alexis Eager, Blake Eager, Makayla Gail, Tucker Wyzard, Christian Wyzard, Trinity Wyzard, Collin Wyzard, Karissa Willoughby and Joshua Willoughby; one brother, Johnie (and Carolyn) Eager.

To celebrate Bill, please wear your Kansas City Chiefs gear or anything red to celebrate the love of his favorite team. Visitation will be 1PM, with services to follow at 2PM, Tuesday, April 12 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s or Ascend Hospice.
