On February 6, 1954, Ed married Marietta Cruse. They shared a beautiful life together until Marietta's passing on April 3, 2001. They initially lived in Riverside before purchasing a home in Liberty, MO, in 1960, where they raised their children. He was a proud grandfather to Sara Curtis (married to Aaron), Steve Colwell, Jason Colwell, and Zach Colwell (married to Sam). His great-grandchildren, Madison, Serenity, Emma, Autumn, Sutton, Monroe, and Dillon, brought him immense joy.

Ed is also survived by his niece, Patty Gukian (married to John), and his nephew, James Colwell.

Ed graduated from Gilman City High School in 1950 and joined the Air Force the same year, serving in France and Germany during the Korean War. During this time, he discovered his passion for motorcycles.

Ed's professional life included a 25-year career as a truck driver with Dicks Transfer and 8 years as an owner/operator of Colwell Trucking before retiring. He also worked for his community by driving a school bus for Liberty Public Schools.

A true motorcycle enthusiast, Ed rode over 350,000 miles on his Harley and achieved his dream of riding in every state within the contiguous United States and Canada. Additionally, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball, sharing his love for the sport with young athletes.

Ed Colwell's legacy of love, dedication, and adventure will be cherished by all who knew him. His family and friends will forever remember his indomitable spirit and the joy he brought into their lives.

I honor of Ed his family would like it if you wear your Harley gear.
