Lila R. Edgington

March 28, 1939 — October 12, 2021

Lila Roselee (Conder) Edgington, Leawood, Kansas, 82, passed away peacefully October 12, 2021 at Kansas City Hospice House. Lila was born March 28, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school, she attended House of Heavilin Beauty College in Kansas City, Missouri. Lila finished beauty school and went to work at the Jones Store Company. Always striving to be the best, she quickly became a top stylist with numerous dedicated clients. On September 18, 1965, Lila married Robert “Bob”A. Edgington. In 1969, she and Bob purchased Kansas City Trailer Sales, Inc., where Lila worked as President. Together they had success in the RV business, operating for more than 40 years. Lila was a sharp businesswoman with great sales ability.

Lila and Bob developed an interest in Real Estate and began purchasing homes to refurbish and sell. They purchased a home in the Sunset Hills neighborhood that became the beginning of many purchases of homes throughout the years. Eventually, Lila became a general contractor and developer of a small subdivision named Conder Place located near Red Bridge Rd. and Wornall Rd. in Kansas City, Missouri. She enjoyed and had a knack for design and taught herself to draw floor plans, and with much dedication and persistence, she achieved her goals.

Lila enjoyed her family, arm wrestling and working in her yard. Those that knew her well might say she kept the cleanest house they had ever been in! Lila was a great cook, loved the Christmas season, was extremely competitive and loved to win.

Lila was preceded in death by her father C.D. Conder and his wife Angie; mother Dorothy Rohrer and her husband Jack; husband Robert A. “Bob” Edgington; son Zane Edgington; and her brother Dennis Conder. Survivors include her daughter Renee Hinson and her husband Bernard; her grandchildren Brent Hinson, Blake Hinson and his wife Christina, Brandon Hinson, Landiz Edgington and Megan Edgington; and her eight great grandchildren.
