Edith Myrtle Duckworth

Edith Myrtle Duckworth, 94, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away at 8:52 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. The family has requested to have a private service and she will be laid to rest in Providence Cemetery in Liberty, Missouri next to her beloved husband.

Edith was born on April 23, 1929 in Iberia, Missouri to Thomas Benton and Odessa Dakota (Humphrey) Whitaker. She was united in marriage to Edward Ivan Duckworth Sr. on December 29, 1951 at the Brays Advent Christian Church in Iberia. Together they had three children: Deborah, Edward Jr., and Anne. Edith was a longtime member of South Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward; her daughter Anne Sanders; and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Prince and husband Kent; her son Edward Duckworth Jr. and wife Dena; son-in-law Robert Sanders; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
