Caroline Edwards

Caroline Edwards was born to Lucinda and Ruff Mable in Parkin, Arkansas on June 30, 1944.

Caroline received her education in Hayti, Missouri and moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1962. For over 50 years she called Kansas City home and grew her family and career there. Caroline valued hard work and responsibility. She worked in several factories throughout her career, including General Motors and Stuart Hall. She retired from Cardinal Health in 2005. Caroline loved cooking, gardening, taking care of her home, and spending time with family and friends. Known to many as ‘Mama,’ ‘Grandma,’ ‘Auntie,’ ‘Aunt Sis,’ or simply ‘Carolyn,’ Mrs. Edwards will be greatly missed by many.

Caroline received Christ at an early age and she was a member of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lewis Lee Edwards, Sr.; two sons: Andrew Scott and Lewis Lee Edwards, Jr.; two brothers: Walter Lee Cable and Willie "James" Brown; and one sister: Carrie Lee Mable.

Caroline leaves behind to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy three daughters: Lolita Boyd, Roshanda Edwards and Khyneesha Edwards, all of Kansas City, MO; two sisters-in-law: Gloria Brown of Toledo, OH and Jacquelyn Edwards of Flint, MI; one daughter-in-law: Lilly Scott of Kansas City, MO; four grandsons: Rodderick Boyd (Glenda), LeeAndre Boyd (LaDonna), Mario Edwards (She'rron) and Elijah Callier, all of Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter: Valecia Boyd of Kansas City, MO; fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Michael Phillips officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
