Edna T. Elbert

Edna M. Turner Elbert passed on July 15, 2020. She was born March 18, 1932 in Booneville, Missouri, the first born to Jessie M. Brown and Fred A. Monroe.

She attended school in Booneville, Missouri. After moving to Kansas City she attended R.T. Coles.

Edna married Theodore Turner and to this union three children were born: Pam Turner-Haney, Regina Turner-Ross and David Turner (deceased). Edna was a very loving and giving person with a very strong personality.

Edna worked as a Nurses Aide at St. Luke’s and St. Joseph Hospitals, later working at Sears and Macy’s Department Stores.

She then decided to attend cosmetology school as a nail technician. She worked at Gahagan’s Beauty Shop and also Kings Beauty Shop.

Edna later married her high school sweetheart from Booneville, Missouri, Jerome Elbert. He departed this life on February 27, 2015.

Edna’s greatest pastime was traveling and cruising. Her most memorable vacation was to the Holy Land. She was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Zion for over 25 years, later changing her membership to Grandview Assembly (New Vision) Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome, sons David Turner and Gary Elbert, granddaughter Gina Ross-Harris, grandson Howard Ross Jr. and sister Loretta Morris.

Edna leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters Pam Turner-Haney (Lou) and Regina Turner Ross, brother Charles Shirley, Arizona, grandchildren Theresa L. Haney-Jones (Bryan), Lee’s Summit, MO, LaMont Tindall (Naima), Grandview, MO, Brie Ross-Davis (Kendrick), Basehor, KS, Tierra Elbert-Evans (Chris), Arkansas, Nicole Turner, KCMO and Chay Ross, KCKS, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and a special nephew Christian Haislip.

Special thanks to Carondelet DCI, Landmark Health Care, Village Home Health and KC Hospice.

Visitation will be 11AM, service at 12PM, Friday, July 24 at New Vision Christian Center, 12400 Grandview Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; entombment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Crosses Mausoleum.
