Erma N. Kennell

We said goodbye to our loving mother and grandmother, Erma Nell Kennell, Tuesday evening February 20th. Erma was 94 years old. She was born on the family farm outside of Kearney, Missouri on December 26, 1929.  She attended Mt. Gilead primary school and graduated from Kearney High School.  She later graduated from the Kansas City Business College.  She married Raymond C. Kennell on April 9th, 1954.  They resided in the Hickman Mills area.

Erma retired from the IRS after celebrating 35 years of service.  She enjoyed traveling with family after her retirement. She learned to decorate cakes and had fun making cakes for birthdays and special occasions.  She crocheted beautiful afghans for family members. She loved being outside working with her flowers or just enjoying the sunshine.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Kennell, father Peter Clarence Kingery, mother Lora Mae Kingery, brothers Robert Kingery and Pete Kingery, and sister Thelma Ritchey.  She leaves behind sons, Michael (Brenda) Kennell, James (Christy) Kennell, daughters Debbie Willis, and Brenda (Jerry) Smith.  Grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Ryan, Beth, and Christopher.  Great grandchildren Amelia and Chloe.
