Gary D. Ewer

Gary Dean Ewer, 51, of Kearney, MO, passed away on September 18, 2022, at Liberty Hospital following a medical emergency. His wife and Blue family were at his side.

Gary was born April 14, 1971, in Whittier, CA. He grew up in Independence, MO and was a 1989 graduate of William Crisman High School. He attended UMKC where he worked his first job on the UMKC Police Department. Gary joined the Liberty Police Department in 1996, eventually serving in every division a commissioned officer could work. He was also responsible for establishing the LIFE program for Liberty School District.

Gary was united in marriage to Meredith Ann Burrell on November 5, 1999 in Parkville, MO. They are blessed with two sons, Jacob and Joseph. Gary also leaves countless friends, including his church family and his Blue family at Liberty Police Department and beyond.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, on Friday, September 23, at the First Baptist Church of Kearney, 303 South Grove Street, Kearney, MO 64060. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
