Charley D. Fielder

August 20, 1937 — August 2, 2020

Charley David “Boss Man” Fielder was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 20, 1937, to Lloyd and Mary Fielder of Ringgold, Louisiana.

Charley departed this life August 2, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his twin Lansa D. brother, his brother Eddie, and his brother Eddie’s wife Johnnie. He attended Ringgold Elementary and High School. He completed 2 years of college, studying Electronics. His academic work extended into sales, in which he was trained and certified. After graduating highschool in 1957, he moved from Ringgold, LA to Kansas City, MO. Charley married his best friend, Louise, on February 14, 1960. They have four children; Michael, Shelita, Jeffrey and Kerrie. They were married 53 years.

Charley confessed his life in Christ at New Star Baptist Church in Ringgold, Louisiana. He was later a member of Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, serving as an usher under Pastor F.O. Owens. He then joined Rising Star Baptist Church, pastored by J.R. WIlliamson. He later joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, headed by his deeply beloved pastor Earl Abel. He occasionally fellowshipped with Jackson Memorial Church, Pastor Harold Wallace.

He was a proud member of Independence Lodge No. 76 in Independence, MO. He was initiated into the mysteries of Freemasonry and later raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 24, 2015.

Charley worked hard to support his family, maintaining multiple jobs. He worked 40 years at Bossert Company (now W.W. Grainger). While working at Bossert, he also worked as a valet for Hereford House in KC, MO. He was also an entrepreneur, having owned Charley Trash a materials transportation business, C&S Electrical Services, First Service Pest, and Fielder Family Investments. He also secured contracts with a commercial lawn care service. Last of all he drove a school bus.

Charley loved his family. He loved family gatherings, Bar “B” Queing, good food and “catching up.” He loved sitting on his front porch and watching the daily activities on his block. Although he didn’t leave the porch, he knew everyone and everything that went on. When his movement became compromised, his neighbors came to the porch to visit, keeping him informed, and in return they carried off a smile and a warming word. Charley has a great number of family, friends, and neighbors that miss his dearly and deeply. His strength, love, and humor are treasures to all that knew him.
