Our Mom died the day before the Royals home opener. Fitting for such a sports
fan. Judith Ann (Koehn) Fleming passed away peacefully the morning of April 6, 2022,
surrounded by family. She leaves behind a son, Mark (Holly), a daughter, Melissa
(Emily), and two grandsons, Kylan and Harper. Our Mom was a loved and irreplaceable
woman. We knew our Mom always as a woman in the service of her family. The pillar of
strength and unshakable conviction, she showed us the true meaning of a mother’s love.
Growing up in Cimarron, KS as the first of four daughters, Mom was a natural born
leader. Our grandfather, Donald Koehn and our grandmother, Betty (Warfield) Koehn,
made the move to Kansas City shortly after Mom graduated in 1969. That fateful move
brought her and our father together, Mark E. Fleming.
Mom was a keeper of things. From kitchen gadgets to jewelry, she collected it all. She
also had many passions. Mom loved the Chiefs, the Royals, CSI, and everything on the
ION channel. But by far she loved her family. We will miss that love and how she could
fill a room with her laughter.
