Christy Ulysses “Chris” Fotopoulos

Christy Ulysses “Chris” Fotopoulos, 79, of Shawnee, KS, passed away May 4, 2019. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Thursday, May 9 and funeral services will be 10AM, Friday May 10, both at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 8100 W. 95th St., Overland Park, KS 66212. Graveside services will be 12PM, Monday, May 13 at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Chris was born August 25, 1939 in Hutchinson, KS to Ulysses and Anna (Govas) Fotopoulos. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Chris was a firefighter for the railroad before working at Honeywell for over 30 years as an engineer. He was a musician that played the drums at Grecian Gardens Restaurant and later at Tasso’s Greek Restaurant. Chris was preceded in death by his wife Linda Fotopoulos, his brother George Fotopoulos and his beloved dogs Lady and Chico. He is survived by his son Christopher Todd Fotopoulos; son James Dimitri Fotopoulos and his wife Kelly; grandchildren Jacob Dimitri Fotopoulos and Nicholas Lane Fotopoulos; and his sister Mary Drolte.
