CHRISTINE MARIE FRANS

Christine Marie Frans, 73, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at NorthCare Hospice, North Kansas City, MO.  Visitation will be from 3:00-4:30 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Shoal Creek Community Church, 6816 N Church Rd, Pleasant Valley, MO 64068.  The family has asked everyone to dress comfortably--wearing Chiefs and Royals attire is certainly welcomed!

Christine was born on Monday, October 14, 1946, one of eight children to James Alvin and Ethel Marie (Moore) Baxter.  She graduated from North Kansas City High School.

Christine met the love of her life, Jerry R. Frans, while working for Waids Restaurant; they were married November 24, 1965, in Nowata, OK.  Christine worked as an administrative assistant for Union Pacific Railroad.  While working and raising 3 children, she helped Jerry pit-crew for a local race team with Bobby Layne from 1974 to 1989.  At this time she purchased a Modified Midget race-car for her son, Christopher, whom she helped pit-crew with other family from 1989 to 1991.  After retiring from the Railroad in 1989, Christine worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Data Entry Clerk, H&R Block as a Tax Preparer, Greater Kansas City Foundation and Community of the Good Shepherd as an Administrative Assistant, where she officially retired.

In addition to racing, Christine’s passions included quilting, puzzles, ceramics, porcelain doll art and her Chiefs and Royals.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved cheering on her grandchildren Shelby in softball and Dustin in baseball.

Christine is preceded in death by her parents; son Jerry Ryan Frans (July 31, 2013); five siblings: Jimmy Baxter, Sandra Gleese, Floyd Baxter, Connie Pacheco and Marsha Jessee.  She is survived by her husband Jerry; children Christopher Anthony Frans (Cindy) and Krista Reneé Baumgardner (Adam); grandchildren: Ciera Elizabeth Woodruff, Shelby Lynn Frans and Dustin Cordell Frans; sisters Faye O'Connell (John) and Donna Perkins (Rick); as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  The family suggests donations to The American Cancer Society.  Arrangements:  Park Lawn Funeral Home (816) 523-1234
