Marilyn Marie Poland Gailey, 82, of Blue Springs, MO went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2020 in Kansas City, MO. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, gardener and a talented musician. A lover of God and music, she served many years as pianist at First Baptist Church of Elon, Covenant Baptist Church, and Ruskin Heights Baptist Church.

Marilyn was born on February 9, 1938 in Thomas County, KS to George Arthur and Lorene Belknap Poland. She was married to William Homer Gailey on June 7, 1958 in Wichita, KS, and together they lived in Wichita, KS, Fairfield, CA, Kansas City, MO, Gibsonville, NC, and Blue Springs, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, their son William Christopher Gailey, brother Leo Poland, sister Betty Horrell, and sister Ilene Myers. She is survived by daughter Deanna Chambers of Lee’s Summit, MO, daughter Kathy Dollar and her husband Floyd of Liberty, MO, daughter Michelle Pennington and her husband Todd of Blue Springs, MO, son Keith Gailey and his wife Jennifer of Glen Allen, VA, brother Jim Poland of Topeka, KS, brother Bernard Poland and wife Ruth of Webster City, IA, brother Kenneth Poland and wife Helen of Gem, KS, grandchildren Holly Eager, Robert Blaze Barrett, Hannah Chambers, Nicole Deal, Daniel Chambers, Georgiana Lawley, William Brett Gailey, Matthew Gailey and great grandchildren Autumn Eager, Grant Eager, Kloe Chambers, Kaidence McLallen, Stella Deal, William Wyatt Deal, and Jonah Lawley.

Visitation will be held at Park Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 8251 Hillcrest Road in Kansas City, MO on October 3, 2020 at 2 pm with a private funeral service immediately following at 3 pm.
