Saundra Lee Gaines

Saundra Lee (Phillips) Gaines, 70, of Pittsburg, MO (formerly of the Kansas City Northland), passed away July 5, 2019, with family at her side. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Sandy's life at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 9, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hickory County Quilt Makers or to Pomme de Terre Southern Baptist Church in Pittsburg, MO.

Sandy was born May 27, 1949, one of six children of Clifford Phillips, Sr. and Genevieve (Link) Phillips. Along with her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Lee Gaines; a brother, Clifford Phillips, Jr.; and sister, Judith Vanderford.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia Jackson (John) and Bryan Gaines; grandchildren, Aaron Jackson (Hannah Long), Brett Jackson (Jazmine) and Thaddeus Gaines; brothers, Fred Phillips (Mary Jane), Edwin Phillips (Cindy) and Robert Phillips (Ella); sister-in-law, Terry Phillips; brother-in-law, Newton Vanderford; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Sandy’s life at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 9, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery.
