GEORGE O. GRAY, JR.

George O. Gray, Jr., 79, of the Kansas City, Mo. Northland, passed away January 27, 2024.

George was born January 11, 1945, in Omaha, NE, the son of Dorothy Gilmore (Potarf) and George Gray, Sr., He attended Boys Town in Omaha. George worked 31 years at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Mo., retiring in 1999. He was a member of the UAW Local 249. George was a sports enthusiast, and loved camping, bowling, and coaching his daughters’ youth softball teams.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Gilmore; father, George Gray, Sr.; and siblings, Phyllis Belitz and Roger Jordan. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, LaRea (Enright) Gray; daughters, Wanita Galloway (Fred) of Stockton, Mo. and Wendy Claypool (Troy) of Smithville, Mo., siblings, Fran Roudebush of Deer Isle, ME, Judy Husfloen of Chewelah, WA, Cheryl George of Chewlah, WA, Norman Jordan of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, John and Eric Galloway, Amber (Claypool) DeRosear, and Austin Claypool; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of George's life will be held at a later date.
