Myra Evelyn Gilstrap

May 10, 1929 — February 27, 2020

Myra Evelyn Gilstrap, 90, passed into the presences of Jesus on February 27, 2020 after a long battle with COPD. Myra was born May 10, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Ralph and Loretta (Hatfield) Clemmons. She was a homemaker and later in life, a greeter at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. She loved to travel, enjoyed Colorado, loved animals, her home, was the life of the party and she served and ministered to many. Myra was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a longtime member of Red Bridge Baptist Church.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Curtis Gilstrap, Sr.; her stillborn daughter, Sandra Diane; her son, Glenn Curtis Gilstrap, Jr. (22 months); and a daughter Tamera Lea Gilstrap.

She leaves her daughter, Sue Goodman and husband Tom; her granddaughter, Lea Cummins and husband Andrew; her grandson, Thomas Goodman, Jr. and wife Christina; great granddaughters, Caitlin and Chloe Cummins and Olivia and Nora Goodman; as well as many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Bridge Baptist Church, 4901 E. Red Bridge Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137.

Visitation will be 1PM, service to follow at 1:30PM, Saturday, March 7 at Park Lawn, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
