Robert E. “Bob” Goins

Robert Earl Goins, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at his home in Independence, MO, with family at his side.

Bob was born July 9, 1953, in Kansas City, MO, the son of George "Bert" Goins, Sr. and Bessie Mae Clark Goins. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, George Goins Jr. and sister, Donna Swartzlander.

Bob worked many years in construction and owned Neighborhood Investors. He also owned apartment complexes in Liberty. Bob possessed the gift of gab, never knowing a stranger. He was a dad and grandpa not only to his own, but to all the neighborhood kids and beyond.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Debbie; children, Jennifer Morrison and her husband Jay, Shawn Goins, Bobbi-Jo Cook and Deanna Hernandez; grandchildren, Tyler, Cameron, Zachary, Kyrsten, Jaylynn, Autumn, Bryson, Kaylin, Victoria, Brayden, Jasper and Jackson; great grandchildren, Kynlee and Kayson; brother, Dale Goins and his wife Lillieann; his best friend like a brother, Eddie Simmons; his cousin like a sister, Bessie Mae O'Riley; as well as countless nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 3:30 pm, followed by a service celebrating Bob's life at 5:00 pm, on Monday, March 8, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Please bring your best story or memory to share at the service.
