Mary Etta Gotschall, 98, of Excelsior Springs, and formerly of Platte County, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2019, at NorthCare Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 6, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville.
Mary was born June 24, 1921, in Indian Head, Maryland, the middle of three children of Earl Richard and Etta Evelyn (Saunders) Cargill. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Louis Cargill.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Fletcher (Larry Sr.), Mary Vassmer (Joe), Barbara Bowman (Richard) and Deanna Budig; six grandchildren, Larry Fletcher, Jr., Clay Vassmer (Heather), Sara McClintic (Aaron), Jennifer Harmon (Brad), Sean Shockley (Kelsey) and Brenden Shockley; and three great grandchildren, Logan Vassmer, Colin McClintic and Mallory McClintic.
