Joe Grantham

Joe Ray Grantham, 78 of Independence, MO, born April 30, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, passed away at home on December 20, 2020, returning to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.   He was the son of Joe H. Grantham and Lula Margarite Brooks Grantham, formerly of Walnut Grove, MO.

Joe was a tool and die maker for General Motors at the Leeds plant in Kansas City. He was a Shriner and loved riding his motorcycle, dancing, and laughing.

Cremation took place at Park Lawn Funeral Home, and no formal services will be held at this time.   A celebration of Joe’s life will be held with family and friends at a later date.

He leaves behind his significant other of 26 years, Joan Russell, two sons: Michael Grantham of Pleasant Hill, MO and James Grantham of Kansas City, MO, and daughter, Deborah and husband Mark Brookstein, of Olathe, KS. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Jake and wife Mary Grantham, Andrew Brookstein, and Abigail Brookstein, great-granddaughter Amelia Grantham, stepdaughter Michelle and husband Chris Camarillo, and their son Anthony.

No formal services will be held at this time.   A celebration of Joe’s life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
