Claudette Green

September 5, 1939 — October 27, 2020

Claudette Althea (Ingram) Green was born September 5, 1939 to the late James and Althea Ingram, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Rosetta Ingram and Joyce Boyd (Douglas); and two brothers, Maurice Gaines and James Ingram, Jr.

Claudette was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Washington, DC, where she lived her adult life. She was a secretary for the US Department of Commerce for over 30 years. Claudette was a proud member of the US Navy Reserves and active duty until her retirement in 2000. She also taught school for the Mount Rainer Public Schools for many years.

Claudette leaves to mourn her one sister, Doris McGee; three brothers, Gene, George and Kenneth Gaines. She also leaves her two beloved and devoted daughters, Donita Morgan and Dandrea Braswell; two grandchildren, Tiliest Braswell, Jr. and Michelle Williams (Dustin); seven great grandchildren, Tiliest Braswell, III, Sariyah and Anthony Edwards, Ava Wendle, Tiara, Taj-Vincent and Tileah Braswell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends that will miss their "Honey" dearly.

Her life was long but short, but she lived it bravely, proudly and on her own terms.

We will miss you and never forget your lessons of love and advice even though sometimes it was crazy! You will always be remembered, for you were a pioneer for those of us who truly knew you.
