Gregory, Minnie Ellen

November 15, 1925 — June 26, 2020

Minnie Ellen Gregory (Nani Minnie), 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 26, 2020. Minnie was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Lewis M. and Julia R. Duncan on November 15, 1925. Minnie was an entertainer and sang with her dad’s band. She also worked at the Tower, Midland and Uptown Theaters.  Minnie met the love of her life, Harold “Brick” Gregory and they were married on March 19, 1942. Minnie and Brick had three sons, Daniel “Danny”, Lloyd and Rick. Minnie was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Bethany Baptist Church; she was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 132 and a volunteer at Swope Ridge Geriatric Center for seven years. Minnie was a member of Northland Cathedral Church and attended the Bible Expedition Class where they still can hear her say that it’s a “Personal Relationship” when it comes to God.  For the past three years Minnie lived at a Long-Term care facility where you could find her smiling, waving and hugging the other residents.  She never complained and brought joy to everyone she met. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband Brick, son Danny, brothers Lewis, Eddie, and Finis, sisters Wanetta (Nino) and Elsie. Minnie is survived by her sons Lloyd (Phyllis) and Rick (Dawn), grandchildren Danny Gregory (Christi), Sean Gregory (Dawn), Aimee Thompson (Charles), Brandon Gregory (Gina), Carla Hall (Jerry), Joe Gregory (Denise), Brett Gregory, Carl Gregory (Caitlin), 15 great- grandchildren, 4 step great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, 10:30 am at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. Due to COVID-19 we ask that everyone comply with all restrictions. Along with being in-person at Northland Cathedral we will also be Live Streaming the Celebration of Life at www.northlandcathedral.org. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be directed to Crossroads Hospice. The family wishes to thank Leann with Crossroads Hospice who was so kind, caring and supportive for the past year and especially in her final days.

Rick, so sorry for the loss of your Mother. She always took the time to talk to me at James School anytime she saw me and was so nice and sweet. I remember her friendly smile. Becky
