Gwendolyn Yvonne Jones

Gwendolyn "Yvonne" Jones was born on October 25, 1927, to Ahrens William "AW" and Florence Marie Penfold, in Schell City Missouri. She was preceded in death by husband, Paul W. Jones; brother, Wilbur Leroy “Bud” Penfold; daughter, Kelli Lynn Jones-Vermillion, and granddaughters, Ericka Yvonne Jones and Isabella Vermillion. 

She was raised in Rockville, MO, graduating from Rockville High School and attended Wright Business College. She married Paul W. Jones and they made Kansas City their home where they raised their family.  She was employed with Sinclair Oil Company and the United States Department Of Agriculture.  She loved cooking and in her spare time, truly enjoyed painting, ceramics, and coloring in her later years. 

Yvonne departed this life on January 22, 2025, at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen M. Jones- Grainger of Richmond, MO and Paulette S. Jones of Kansas City, MO, one son Richard L. Jones (Carol) of Lee's Summit, MO, one sister Earline Trimmer "Billie" of Kansas City, MO, nine grandchildren Michael Burns, Rachael Inks (Billy), Wade Grainger (Olivia), John Chapman (Joanna), Rick Jones (Adrianne), Eric Jones, Pam Vivanco (Tyler), Nicholas Jones, Robert Vermillion, nine great grandchildren Carly Hudson (Justin), Brendyn Grisham, Michael Jones, Katrina Chapman, Cora Chapman, Ascheron Chapman, Ezekial Chapman, Claire Jones, Chase Jones, and two great-great grandchildren Coleson Hudson, Kennadi Hudson, and many other relatives and friends.
