Christina Hampton, 46, of Overland Park, passed away on October 5th, 2018, in Kansas City after a two year battle with interstitial lung disease. Christina looked for joy in the small things in life, and always had something to smile about. She was a strong willed and passionate woman. She stuck to her beliefs no matter what and she spoke loudly enough to make sure she was heard. She touched so many lives, and had so much love in her heart. She wanted to be as close as possible to everyone in her life and was selfless when taking care of loved ones, and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10th, 9:00am, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, followed by a Catholic service 10:00am to 11:00am with Father Michael of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Olathe. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Christina was born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina to Michael Pozzolungo and Carol Pozzolungo on July 1, 1972. She graduated from The University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007, with degrees in History and Education. She worked as a teacher for Hogan Preparatory Academy for 4 years.
Christina is preceded in death by her father, Michael. Christina is survived by her
> husband, Rick Harvey, her mother, Carol Pozzolungo; her children, Cecily Moreno and husband Jeremy, Scott Hampton and partner Chance Phillippe, Alice Hampton and wife Britany Hanks, Liz Harvey and husband Derek Fintel; her brother Luigi Pozzolungo; her granddaughters, Winter and Jade; and her dog, Ginger.
Pallbearers will be Alice Hampton, Chance Phillippe, Jeremy Moreno, Rick Harvey, Scott Hampton, and Steve Spilman. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecily Moreno, Liz Harvey and Luigi Pozzolungo.
The family of Christina wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and to Father Michael of Saint Paul Church in Olathe.
