HANNA B. DOBBERSTINE

          Hanna Bea (Lockwood) Dobberstine, 79, a longtime Liberty resident, passed peacefully on March 29, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospice House with family at her side.

          Hanna was born August 25, 1944, in Marceline, MO, the youngest of three children of Oral J. and Ruby (Richardson) Lockwood. Along with her parents, Hanna was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Couch.  

          Hanna grew up in Marceline and graduated from Marceline High School.  She later received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from William Jewell College.  Hanna was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority (Epsilon Epsilon Chapter) and remained active with its alumnae throughout her life.  She served as a Chapter Advisor for over 35 years and was honored by having a suite of rooms in their sorority complex named after her. Hanna was a member of Second Baptist Church.  

          Survivors include her son, Brent Dobberstine (Jennifer); grandchildren, Maddy Myers (Kyle) and Travis Russell; brother, Larry Lockwood (Barb, deceased), nieces and nephews, Rhonda Juncos (Manny), Shannon Ewigman (Bob), Kirk Lockwood (Sis), and Kelly Lockwood (Shelly), and their families; as well as other family members and friends.

          Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Hanna’s life at 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 27, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Private burial in Marceline, MO.  

          In lieu of flowers, Hanna requested memorials to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, 8710 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
