Dear, Rick, LeAnne and Elizabeth, I am so very sorry for your loss of Amanda. I know your hearts are breaking. The saying that she is in a better place, it is really very true...even when we don’t feel it down here. All those rosaries you have said through the years LeAnne, they make an impact. Amanda is shining up in heaven just like she did down here. And without a doubt she is smiling at all of you. I love you and am praying for you.

Melissa Decker

Will miss you forever! Rest In Peace.

Amanda, your bright red lipstick matched your equally bright and uplifting personality perfectly. It takes a lot to brighten up a detention unit but you did it effortlessly. I always looked forward to walking in with an arrest and hearing your "Hey girl!" We'd talk about tattoos, your pride for your family's service to the department, show each other pictures of our dogs, laugh a lot. You made the heavy stuff outside of those doors disappear momentarily and you didn't even try. You've left your mark on so many. Rest easy

Ilinca Rusnac

Seeing Amanda in detention was always a welcome sight and conversation. Getting to share stories, or pictures of my children with her is something I will never forget. She was so kind, and such an amazing soul to be able to call a friend. When she told me you she going to go into the academy, I couldn't be happier for her. Then hearing about her sickness devastated me, and even though I didn't get to see her, I still prayed for her. I will always admire her determination and strength she showed throughout her fight. Rest well my friend, and until we meet again.

Ret. Officer Charlie Chambers

Extending my deepest sympathy to your family now and in the time to come. May your treasured memories provide some comfort.

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda at Metro Patrol. I an officer, and she a DFO. She was always willing to help out no matter what the situation was in the jail. I saw her day in and day out killing it in the gym. I remember when she first found out about her brain cancer. Although devastating news, she never let it affect her spirit. Amanda will always be remembered as kind and spunky. I am so sorry, Sgt. Hart, Leanne Hart, and family for your loss. This one def. shakes us to the core. She was def. a life lost way too soon. My condolences.

Jesus said we were to love our neighbors as ourselves. We never met Amanda but you (Leanne), Rick, and Liz made it very easy to love you as neighbors. I have no doubt Amanda will be the same in that respect when we finally meet her.

I will always remember Amanda as a very selfless person from making “goodies” for officers to sharing videos of her family opening the Christmas gifts she so thoughtfully chose! She was so happy to be able to pick gifts she knew they would cherish! I’m so lucky to have known her even if for only a short time! I know she will will be missed and I’m sorry for the emptiness her passing will bring.

Amanda and I became friends while working at Yankee Candle. When she told me she was sick, she told me not to worry because she was going to beat it. Everytime I would wear red lipstick, which wasn't very often, I would show her and she would reply with "Yesss, queen. You know red is my signature color". Everyday she would brag about the wonderful food she was eating or how badass at Mario kart she is, usually it was pictures of Ellie she would share with me. We'd spend hours gossiping about boys and her job. I didn't see her often but I did talk to her everyday. She is a hell of a woman and will be greatly missed. Rest easy my dear friend
