Harvey (Hoppy) Douglas Moore Born to Shirley Mae Ladd and Claude Moore Jr in Kansas City Missouri on July 21 1948 Passed away April 6 2023 at Truman medical center in Kansas City Missouri with Daughter Emma Lois and Wife Emma by his side. Hoppy was a loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle. Hoppy served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps. Hoppy was a mechanic and race car driver in his younger years. and loved working on his 1952 R-2 Dodge Crash truck (Air force fire truck). In the summers of 2002-2004 Hoppy pitted along with Daughter Emma for drag car racer Eric Mann of Mann Speed Specialty of independence Missouri at thunder valley race way in Bethany Missouri. Hoppy was happiest while working on cars or being in the pits at the racetrack. Hoppy also collected guns and knives and loved to go shooting. Hoppy's niece Stephanie Moore says she remembers picking up the empty brass for reloads. Hoppy has a reload bench in his basement where he also taught his daughter Emma to help him. Hoppy is survived by Wife of 35 years Emma Francis Moore, Only Child Daughter Emma Lois Sharp and son in law Josh R. Sharp. 6 grandchildren Emma Chloe, Skyler Marie, Trinity Alexis, Zander Lee, Lilian Michelle, and Xavier Raymond Sharp, 2 sisters Wendy Moore and Penny Moore Schlueter. Hoppy is now reunited with his brother Raymond Moore, and Sisters Mendy Ann Moore and Shirley Ann Robinson Moore. Most that knew Hoppy didn't know his name was Harvey this is because he was given the nickname of Hoppy at a young age by his little sister Penny who could not say Harvey. There is so much more that can be said about what a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle Hoppy was but there isn't paper big enough.
