Sally J. (Rainier) Harvey, 82, of the Kansas City, Missouri Northland, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022, at Estoria at Norterre in Liberty, Missouri. She died in the company of Chuck, of her husband of 62 years.

Sally was born June 24, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, the middle of three children of Howard and Mildred (Ross) Ranier. She graduated from high school in Romeo, Michigan and later received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business from Western Michigan University. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

Sally was united in marriage to Charles Leslie Harvey on August 20, 1960 in Romeo, Michigan, and they have three children, Mike, Christy and Todd.

Sally moved with her family to Illinois in 1969. After raising her children, Sally opened and then managed Grimms Medical Supplies in St. Charles, Illinois. She worked 27 years until retirement in 2015.

Sally was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in St. Charles, Illinois. In more recent years, she volunteered her time teaching English to a young "Dreamer" immigrant mother, and proudly watched her family settle in the US and become lifetime friends. Sally also had a passion for growing all types of blooming flowers both inside and outside her home.

Along with her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her brother, James Rainier, and brother-in-law, Dick Hemmila.

Survivors include her husband Chuck; children, Mike Harvey, Christy Harvey and Todd Harvey (Tara); six grandchildren, one great grandchild and a second due in March. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Hemmila; sister-in-law, Linda Shaw; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be 10AM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in St. Charles, Illinois. Her remains will be placed in a National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W451 Fox Mill Boulevard, St. Charles, Illinois 60175, or to Harvesters, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129.
