Herbert V. Hatcher, 70, passed away on August 14 th , 2021, at St Luke’s Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Hatcher was born September 25 th ,1950 in Niles, MI to Minnie (Moore) and Herbert Hoover Hatcher. He was also raised by Gladys and Ola Johnson in Kansas City, MO until her death.
He Spent his life in South Bend, IN, Topeka, KS and Kansas City, MO.
Mr. Hatcher accepted Christ at an early age and continued to live by God’s word until his passing.
Mr. Hatcher attended school in Kansas City, MO and South Bend, IN, he also went through Job Corp. Mr. Hatcher had various jobs through out his life, working for Schutte Lumber, KC Iron & Steel & lastly working for his Uncle’s “Pops” and Odell doing Construction work for the Family Business – Hatcher & Sons.
Mr. Hatcher loved his Kansas City Chiefs & Notre Dame Football. He loved to play dominoes and all that trash talk that went along with it, most importantly he loved his family and loved attending family BBQ’s, Birthday’s & get-togethers. He was affectionately known as “Big Cuz.”
Mr. Hatcher was preceded in death by his Parents, Minnie & Hoover; Sisters: Lorraine & Charlotte (Shorty) Brothers: Ed Lee & Robert (Lacy).
Mr. Hatcher’s memory will forever be cherished by his Brothers Ron (Patsy) Lumpkins St. Louis, MO, & Russell Hatcher Buffalo, NY, sister in Law Judith (Robert-deceased) Hatcher Mishawaka, IN; Nieces, Dawn Shelton Concord, NC, Nanetha (Donnie) Cutler, Nicole (Dennis) Copeland both of So. Bend, IN, Erika (Stacy) Hatcher Green Bay, WI, Natalie Plummer (Shawn Pittman) & Sarah Kuplic (James Nicodemus) both of So. Bend, IN; Nephews, Ronald Shelton Charlotte, NC, Eddie (Becky) Robinson New Philadelphia, PA, and Anthony Robinson PA.
Mr. Hatcher is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews and many cousins that he was very close with – Special Cousins WildaJean Boysaw & Del Hatcher Jr., as well as extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Gate 1, Kansas City, MO 64138. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the chapel.
