Marilyn Lucille Paige Henderson, 78, of Kansas City, MO, passed away January 29, 2020. She was born October 7, 1941 in Bunceton, MO to Coleta Fields Henderson and Junious Paige.
She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Benjamin Morris and George Paige; sisters Susan Paige, Mary Paige, and Linda Paige.
Marilyn was educated at Dunbar High School in Bunceton, MO and Douglas High School in Columbia, MO. Marilyn moved to Columbia, MO as a young girl and then moved to Kansas City, MO in 1962. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age.
Marilyn started her career as a pre-school teacher in 1965 at Carver Day Care Center and later in 1973 was employed with the Jackson County Family Court as an orientation worker for 34 years. Marilyn was affectionately known by many as “Paige,” “Hollywood,” and “Marilyn Monroe”. Marilyn loved listening to her music the “BLUES,” cooking and socializing with family and friends. She also had a unique talent of playing the piano by ear. She was loved by all, never meeting a stranger.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Terry D. Paige, and son, Michael D. Paige (Andrea); two granddaughters Carmen Pendelton and Erica Paige; and great-granddaughter Sydney Reign Mitchem.
She also leaves three sisters; Judith Paige, Virginia Paige, and Patricia Paige; one brother, Frank Paige; a special friend, Clifford H. Taylor, and a host of relatives and friends not mentioned nor forgotten.
Visitation will be 12PM, with service at 1PM, Saturday, February 8 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
