Jr. Robert L. Herald

Robert Lee Herald, Jr (Bob) passed away peacefully into the presence of God on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Born in Independence, MO on January 22, 1942 to Robert and Frances Herald. Before graduating from Van Horn High School (1960) in Kansas City Mo, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. On August 17, 1962 he married Janice (Hill) Herald of Kansas City, MO. They would have celebrated their 58th anniversary this August. Bob and Janice lived in Independence where their three children, Robin, Rick and Randy, were born.

Bob and his father owned and operated Herald Office Equipment for nearly 35 years in Independence, MO. Bob was a life long member of the Church of God in Kansas City, MO where he served in various leadership and ministry positions. His faith was consistent and authentic.

Bob enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks all the while telling stories and laughing at his own “dry” jokes. He spent countless hours and numerous miles traveling to support his five grandchildren in their various activities. He was so proud of them.

Bob will be remembered for his hours of volunteering at Center Point Hospital and Summit Christian Academy. This was evidence of his kind and caring heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Frances Herald and his brother George Herald, Sr. He is survived by his wife Janice Herald, daughter Robin Collins (Thomas) of Lee’s Summit, MO, sons Richard Herald (Kelly) of Springfield, MO and Randall Herald (Julie) of Blue Springs, MO, and five grandchildren Kathryn, Jacquelynn, Brooke, Jonathan and Ean.

The family appreciates the love and support that has been extended to each of them. Services will be Monday, June 1, 2020 at Hope Chapel 1150 NE Woods Chapel Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064. Visitation will be from 11:30-1:00, service at 1:00 pm and burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
