Geraldine Ellen Hickman, 82 passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, September 4, 2020, in Liberty, Missouri.
Geraldine was born August 22, 1938, in Farragut, Iowa, to James and Marie (Powers) Graham. She spent her years growing up on a farm in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School.
She met John (Jock) Hickman while he was working in Shenandoah. They soon were married in Council Bluffs, IA January 29, 1957. For the next 63+ years, they were devoted to each other and together they raised 3 incredible children, Butch, Pam & David.
If anyone were to ask Geri what her crowning jewel was, she would say it was her family. Geri loved them more than anything in the world and expressed it in many ways.
Grandchildren enjoyed visiting grandma and baking with her. Everyone looked forward to her baked pies and cinnamon apples at family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. Whether it was an apron for the grandchildren, hemming pants, or making a dress from start to finish, Geri could do it.
Geri loved being outdoors and to travel. One of her favorite places to be during the summer was at the lake with her family, RV, and boat. Many family members have fond memories of Grandpa and Grandma at the lake.
She enjoyed researching, discovering, and sharing about her family’s history. One of her favorite past times was sitting and visiting with friends and neighbors.
