Shawna Jo Hook

Shawna Jo (Deering) Hook, 54, of Claycomo, joined her Lord and Savior on August 21, 2021. She passed away at home with loved ones at her side.

Shawna was born January 21, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1985. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Warren Lee Hook, on July 18, 1985. Shawna later received her Associate's degree from Maple Woods Community College. She worked as a Librarian for Mid-Continent Public Library in Claycomo for 10 years. Shawna was a member of Kansas City Church. Shawna had a special love for the outdoors, butterflies and cats!

Shawna was preceded in death by her father, John Deering. She leaves her husband of 36 years, Warren Hook; son, Ransom Hook; mom and dad, Charlotte and Wes Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Jeff Day; nephew, Devin Day, his wife Lexus and their daughter Rylee; niece, Autumn Day; other family members as well as Warren's family, and many friends.

A memorial celebration will begin 11:00 am Saturday, August 28, at Kansas City Church, 7700 North Church Road, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the K.U. Cancer Center.
