Garland Duane Huitt, was born September 24, 1932 and passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021. Duane served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a true salesman at heart and enjoyed his work in the cemetery business until he retired.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his wife, Anna June Plank-Huitt and two brothers, Roland and George. He is survived by his brother, Roger Huitt of Lees Summit, MO, his two sons, Dennis L. Huitt (Karen) of Springfield, MO and Gregory L. Huitt (Wanda) of Rockmart, GA, two grandsons, Jacob L. Huitt (Katlyn) of Cedartown, GA and William “JR” Adams (Katelyn) of Dexter, MO, also two step grandsons, Joshua M. Stanley and Jason M. Stanley of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, Kason, Bristol (Jacob and Katlyn), Tristian, Briar (William “JR” and Katelyn), Maddie and Levi (Joshua and Ashley) and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1PM, with memorial services to follow at 2PM, Saturday, August 14 at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City; private interment in Floral Hills Cemetery.
