Ida M. Corbett

Ida May Corbett passed away at the age of 97 on July 27, 2023, in Westerville, Ohio, formerly of Grain Valley, Missouri. She was born February 20, 1926, to the late Frank and Edith (Miley) Miller in Birch Tree, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Corbett; sisters Loeta Hunley, Patricia Thomas and Alice Ashmore; brothers Edd Miller and Ralph Miller; and long-time companion William J. Brehm.

She is survived by her daughter Elaine Gaunt (Robert), Westerville, Ohio; grandsons David Gaunt, Kansas City, MO; Brian Gaunt (Sarah), Westerville, OH; and great-grandchildren Jacob, Jillian, Kathryn and Rachel Gaunt; sisters Velma Maples, Ann Ledgerwood (Sam); brothers Robert Miller (Delores), John Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She retired from Montgomery Ward Co., Kansas City, MO after 30 years’ service and The Jones Store Co. Ida was active in the American Business Women’s Association for many years and voted Woman of the Year in 1974. She enjoyed travelling, reading Danielle Steele and taking care of her plants and flowers. She loved her family and loved spending time with them, always instilling words of wisdom from her own life experiences.  She was greatly loved and will be missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO.   Dr. Sandra Woodside officiating.  Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
