James W Hill


James Wallace Hill was born on September 18th, 1944 in Karnack, Texas being the oldest of the five children. He is preceded in death by both parents John Hill Jr. and Henrietta Hill; one sister Vernetha Beasley. 

In 1946 he was 2 years old when the family relocated to Kansas City. As a young teenager he found the interest of cars at Manual Vocational High School where he met the love of his life Evelyn LeEtta Carter. They were United in Holy Matrimony in 1966, from their union was two daughters and one son Koren, Patrica and Michael. 

James was employed at Sears and Roebuck where he took early retirement after 21 years. He worked miscellaneous jobs until he found his new career at the Kansas City Missouri Water Department and retired after 15 years. 

James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age where he attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He then continued his faith at Lift Him Up Ministries Family Worship Center. 

Mr. James Wallace Hill departed from this life on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at 5:13PM, in the ICU unit of St. Joseph Hospital. James leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Evelyn LeEtta Hill of 57 years, 2 daughters Koren (Curtis) Kearse of Grandview, Missouri, Patricia Hill of Atlanta, Georgia and son Michael Hill of, Atlanta, Georgia, 3 sisters LaDessa (Maurice) Donley of Kansas City, Kansas, Barbara Cruse of Kansas City, Missouri, Wendy Hill of Manhattan, Kansas; ten Grandchildren; three Great grandchildren; four bonus Great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11AM, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Park Lawn Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10AM. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
