James Samuel Massey, Jr., 67, of Stover, MO and a longtime resident of Kansas City, passed away September 16, 2022, at Lake Regional Medical Center in Osage Beach, MO.

Jim was born December 20, 1954, the son of James Samuel and Bernice Frances Rhodus Massey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Akemi; and siblings, Frankie, Imogene, Warren, Loretta, Bob, Richard and Jerry. Jim earned his degree in Culinary Arts and retired as a Mail Supervisor for the University of Heath and Biosciences.

Survivors include his children, Jennifer Shelley (Eric), Michael Massey and Zachary Massey; grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Brittanee and Brianah Shelley, Anna Massey, Kelsey Mueller and Hunter O'Neal; siblings, Dorothy Strutton, Lloyd Snow, Shirley Lawson and Donna Williams; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and family.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Jim's life at 11:00 am, on Friday, October 7, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial in Glenridge Cemetery.
