In loving memory of Jim Simmermon, who passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024 at the age of 86, surrounded by his cherished family. He lived a life rich in adventure, service, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
As a firefighter and EMT of 27 years, he represented bravery and selflessness, serving to help others during their most vulnerable moments.
But it wasn't just work that defined him; it was his passions and pursuits that truly illuminated his spirit. A true solution finder, he spent countless hours tinkering and fixing things at home, while also finding joy in outdoor adventures like boating, fishing, water skiing, and camping. Travel made his soul happy and his solution-based skill set was evident in everything he did, including his passion for creating in his woodworking shop.
His love for his church was unwavering, finding comfort and community within its walls. And when it came to his family, his heart knew no bounds. He was not just a father, husband, grandpa, great-grandpa, or great-great-grandpa - he was the pillar upon which his family stood, the guiding light in times of joy and sorrow.
Every family gathering was a testament to his deep value of tradition and deep rooted family love. And who could forget his adventures on the open road, towing his beloved camper behind him, each journey a new chapter in his never-ending story of exploring and discovery.
Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. Let us remember Jim not with tears, but with smiles, for he lived a life that he loved, holding hands with the love of his life. A life that will continue to inspire and uplift us for generations to come. Rest easy knowing that your legacy of love and laughter will forever light our way.
Jim is survived by his loving spouse Judy Simmermon, his children Mariena, Jodene, Sherry, Chris, Pam and Jim, his 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
