James L. Svetlecic

James “Jim” L. Svetlecic, 65, Liberty, MO passed away unexpectedly August 28, 2024 at Liberty Hospital with his family at his side.

Jim was born April 12, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri to George Svetlecic and Marsha Fritchie Svetlecic. He graduated in 1977 from the Precious Blood High School in Liberty, MO. He graduated from UMKC with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art. Jim owned State of the Art (SOTA). He specialized in state-of-the-art preservation as well as framing art. 

Jim married Alison Wohlner on September 5, 1992. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Bryan King. He survived by his wife Alison; daughters Sophia G. Peoples (John) and Madeline L. Skinner (Justin); grandson Kaden Peoples; father George Svetlecic (Cathi) and mother Marsha Mick (Rowdy); brother Dennis King (Brenda); sister-in-law Mikala King and sister-in-law Lisa Stucky.

Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday September 13, 2024 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel at 1640 North Missouri State Highway 291, Liberty, Mo. All are welcome to attend, but in honor of Jim, please do not wear black, his vibrant presence can be shown by wearing colorful attire. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the James L. Svetlecic memorial fund in care of the family.
