James John Wellman

James John Wellman, 80, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 12, 2024. He was born August 16, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Harry Ned and Barbara (Reinhardt) Wellman Sr.

James served in the United States Air Force. He and his late wife Kathleen were married for 30 years until her death in 1997. He retired from AT&T where he was Communications Engineer. James was an avid golfer and he also enjoyed cheering on the Royals, Chiefs and his beloved Razorbacks.

He is survived by his children Cindy (Alan) Youngers, Patricia Mincks, Jamie Wellman, and Jonathan (Jade Depue) Wellman. 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his brothers R.C. (Rosa) Wellman and Larry Wellman.

In addition to his parents and wife, James is preceded in death by his brother Harry Ned Wellman Jr. and sons-in-law Bob Nash and Raymond Mincks.

Private services are being planned. James will be laid to rest next to his wife Kathleen at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
