Janell Redden

Janell Joyce Redden (Hayes) died peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Northcare Hospice House with family around her. Janell, like her husband Bob Redden, was all about her family. She was known by many names… known as SC by her husband of 48 years, mom to her three daughters, and mamaw to her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 

Janell was born March 4, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. Her early years were spent growing up on a farm in Preston, MO. She moved to Liberty, MO around six years old, when it was time to begin school. Janell began her family life at a young age, marrying the love of her life, Bob, in 1976. Early on Janell worked at a nursing home as a cook, later she joined her husband and began working at Milbank Manufacturing as a member of the Steelworkers Union. This is where she spent the next 39 years of her career before retiring in 2017.

Janell is preceded in death by husband, Bob (2025), Kansas City, MO, daughter, Jennifer (2014), Independence, MO, mother, Doris (2002), Kansas City, MO, and father Charles (2015), Kansas City, MO.

She is survived by brother Richard, daughter Cheryl and her partner Jenara, daughter Brenda and her husband Josh, grandchildren Randy, Renee, Ryan, Bobbi, and Jason. Great grandchildren Maxwell, David, Maci, Aria, Amelia, and Isaiah.

Janell lost her husband, Bob Redden, just five days (January 29th) before her own passing. The family will be hosting a joint celebration of life for Janell and Bob Redden on Monday, February 10, 2025, 6 - 8 PM. Services will be held at the Gano Assembly Hall at William Jewel College (500 College Hill, Liberty, MO). Gano Assembly is next door to the Gano Chapel, located on E Mississippi St just before Miller Ave. In lieu of flowers or donations, please bring an appetizer or side dish. 

Celebration of Life at William Jewel College, in the Gano Assembly on Mississippi St at the corner of Miller Ave. Services will be held 6-8 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025.
