JoAnne L. Dye, 88, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was born November 7, 1936, in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Toad and Frances (Partch) Morgan.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Jim) Schulz, Lisa (John) McMechan and Laura (Carl Maxwell) Spaulding; 5 grandchildren: JodyLee (Molly), Sarah (Zach), Melanie (Troy), Jade and Raven; and 4 great-grandchildren: Hadley, Will, Penelope and Oliver.
Family came first for JoAnne, she stayed home and took care of her husband and children. She was actively involved in their school where she volunteered as a room mother. When she was in her 40’s she entered the work force. She was a biscuit maker at McDonald’s alongside her daughter Laura. She then worked for Kodak where she was the delivery driver picking up and delivering film and photos around Kansas City. In retirement she and her late husband Clifford volunteered at Independence Regional Health Center, under the direction of their daughter Lisa, who was the Volunteer Coordinator. She spent a lot of time with the grandchildren making fudge, cooking, baking, decorating cookies, camping and other activities, while Linda made “suggestions” of what to do. She and Clifford also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson.
In addition to her parents, JoAnne is preceded by her husband Clifford and siblings: Patsy White, Bill Morgan and Jerry Morgan.
