We had no idea about John's death. It was not in the Kansas City Star. John was my roommate at KU, and we were always close friends. Sadly, time gets in the way. We last saw John and Karen at their 50th wedding anniversary in Liberty. Janie and I are just so very saddened.

John was a classmate of mine in high school and college. He was invariably kind, gracious and thoughtful. Although we lost touch after high school, I know that he made our world a better place. I hope that John's family will find comfort in enduring good memories and in the love and care of those who knew this upstanding person.

To a great friend and an even more generous man. Your smile and infectious laughter will be missed. With your unquestionable faith I wish you Godspeed into the next life and a sincere thank you for your friendship. My love and prayers to Karen and the entire Heil family and I hope that you all find comfort in the joy that John brought to so many people.

What a wonderful person John was - helped everyone, spoke to everyone and knew everyone. We lived near the Heils and then of course went to school with him (Bonnie Allen and her two sisters on Hickory) and over the years called on Bob to help us have the best photos for all events. He will be missed and he touched so many lives!

You are each one in our prayers and thoughts, Karen, Chris, Diane, Craig and Curtis. We have so many great memories with all of you. We pray you feel God's peace and His arms around each of you. If we get your way this summer we hope to see you. In the meantime hugs to you. Much love.
